I am a photographer, videographer, editor, sound mixer, coffee table book enthusiast, and flâneur that has been influenced by his loud family, DVD extras, and behind-the-scenes documentaries. I love learning about process and watching people create with their hands.
I grew up in Columbus, OH and left in 2009 to live and work near the ocean. Most of my experience has come from saying “yes” to things I wasn’t qualified to do, freaking out for a while, and then doing my best to figure it out. I was hoping that that was a thing people in their 20’s did and by my 30’s I wouldn’t have to anymore, but now, in my 40’s it seems like this is just my process.
In the past couple of years, I have filmed humpback whales with the Koholā Film Project, captured photos for World Central Kitchen as they worked to feed victims of the Lahaina fire, created a music video for The Doobie Brothers, shot behind-the-scenes photo and video for various projects, and recorded location sound for TV, commercials, and documentaries.
Currently, I have work on display at the Maui Ocean Center, The Hawai’i Wildlife Discovery Center in Whaler’s Village, and at Kahului Airport. Click here for a full list of credits.
